Successful Transfer of the Holbrooke Hotel

Foster & Associates are pleased to announce a successful closing of two escrows as well as arranging financing for the historic Holbrooke Hotel. The new owners, Ian and Susan Garfinkel have taken on a great challenge to bring this building and business back to its former prestigious position in the community.
The sale of the real estate was difficult and took an enormous amount of time and energy. Ian, a well-known musician, property manager and real estate investor rose to the challenge of assessing much-needed repairs and the organization of the business. The business escrow took a great deal of time and patience because of liens levied against the previous owners that had to be negotiated.
“I want the Holbrooke to be an easy place to come and enjoy the downtown for shopping, celebrations, and relaxation. A good place where friends and neighbors meet,” says Garfinkel.
As well as the continued historic hotel business, Ian has improved the entertainment venues at the Holbrooke with music in the Iron Door downstairs for rock and roll and dancing. There is also nightly music in the classic Golden Gate Saloon for quieter venues where food is served until midnight on weekends.
The banquet rooms are open for many types of groups and gatherings and the hotel restaurant is now operating with new Chef Dylan who offers a fresh look at California Cuisine. The garden patio is open for lunch and the Holbrooke restaurant is also offering catering and “Food to Go” as part of their service for busy households.
The Holbrooke’s new owners, Ian and Susan want to invite the community to look again at the many services the historic building has to offer. Please join us for a Grass Valley Chamber mixer on Thursday, September 8, and until then, drop by and say hello anytime to the new owners and see for yourself all have to offer.
